Physical Requirements:

Strength and Stamina:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects, often weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Sustain long periods of standing, walking, or repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, and lifting.

Hand-Eye Coordination & Dexterity:

  • Precise control of fingers and hands to manipulate or adjust metal objects.
  • Ability to use hand tools, such as hammers, pliers, and screwdrivers, efficiently.
  • Capability to operate machinery or equipment that require steady and coordinated movements.

Visual Acuity:

  • Clear vision to read small labels, measurements, blueprints, or computer screens.
  • Ability to recognize fine details, judge depth, and perceive subtle or nuanced differences in shape or brightness.
  • Possessing peripheral vision to be aware of surroundings, especially when working around moving machinery or equipment.

Flexibility & Balance:

  • Capability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach without constraint.
  • Maintain balance while working on potentially slippery or uneven surfaces, or when handling heavy materials or tools.

Endurance:

  • Resilience to work in a fast-paced environment, often under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods without significant fatigue.

Environmental Tolerance:

  • Capability to work in environments that might be dusty or have fluctuating temperatures.
  • Tolerance for exposure to loud noises from machinery or tools, with the understanding that protective gear must always be worn.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods, such as safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, masks, or steel-toed boots.

Respiratory & Circulatory Health:

  • Possess adequate lung capacity and respiratory health to work in environments where fumes or dust might be present, especially when wearing masks or respirators.
  • Healthy circulatory system to prevent potential complications when standing for prolonged periods or operating vibrating machinery.
